A solid nine carat yellow gold letter opener with hinged stainless steel pen knife set into the handle. the piece is very classically designed, with simple banding through the length of the handle, and a handsomely shaped blade that will allow to neatly open letters.  The handle is sandwiched with stainless steel in order to incorporate a very sharp folding pen knife blade.  Useful for tasks that require a little more strength.  A very well sized piece that will suit most desks, coming in its original Cartier red leather box.  The piece is fully signed Cartier on the blade between the handle and the blade, along with Cartier the registration mark.  Circa 1960's.
